For March, we’re making bright bird blocks on soft blue backgrounds. Download the print-friendly directions here:
Bird Block Pattern PDF
Please use these CRQC FABRIC GUIDELINES! (They vary slightly from the guidelines given in the pattern link.) Each block is made from FOUR fabrics:
- SKY – a soft blue fabric, either solid or a tone-on-tone. It should “read as
blue” if you are looking at it from across the room. - BODY – may be any bright fabric, solid, tone-on-tone or multicolor print.
- WING – may be any other bright fabric, solid, tone-on-tone or multicolor
print that has good CONTRAST with the body fabric. - BEAK/LEGS – solid black for both.
Blocks you enter should measure an unfinished 6.5” X 9.5”.
You may make a maximum of 10 blocks for chances in the drawing — feel free to use the same sky fabric in all your blocks, but each body + wing combination should be unique.
